Take Advantage Of Games And Attractions Outdoors

Experts recommend getting plenty of sunshine and fresh air to maintain good physical and mental health. People used to take Sunday drives but gas is too expensive these days to waste driving to nowhere. Although sitting on the grass and staring at the sky is free, that doesn't sound like a lot of fun. Here are a few games and attractions outdoors that will make you glad you went outside.

Both kids and adults can have fun racing around in go karts. For just a few dollars, you can drive around the obstacle courses they have erected. What's even more fun is challenging someone to a race and seeing who can make it to the finish line first. Check your local phone book to find the nearest karting facility in your area.

If you prefer a more strategic outdoor game, then paintball may be the activity for you. It is an elaborate version of hide and go seek. You split up into teams and then track each other down in a large, and usually wooded, area. When you find someone from the other team, you tag them with a paintball. The team with the most people left standing wins.

Spending a few hours in a batting cage can be tons of fun and a great bonding experience between a parent and a child. They have setups for people of all ages. Children can hit from a t-ball while adults can use an automated ball machine. People on baseball and softball teams can improve their swing. Or parents can talk about life with their kids between pitches.

You don't have to be a pro golfer in order to enjoy a leisurely game of golf. The fresh air and sunshine will energize you as you move from hole to hole. You can play alone or with friends. If the idea of playing around other golfers is just too intimidating to you, then play miniature golf instead.

For those that like to get their hearts pumping, then a fast paced game of tennis may be in order. This is another game that can help you improve your hand and eye coordination as well as your reflexes. You can play with a partner, team up to play doubles, or match wits with an automatic ball machine.

Basketball, soccer, and football are all great outdoor activities for people that like to play team sports. Don't just watch sports games on television. Grab a few friends and get out on the field. All you need is an open space large enough for your group to move around freely and you'll be all set to play for the entire day.

Getting off the couch and participating in games and attractions outdoors is the best thing you can do for your overall health. You will reduce stress, strengthen your body, and have fun. Instead of sitting around playing video games from sunup to sundown, call a few friends and invite them to play a few outdoor games with you. You'll all have fun and improve your relationships at the same time.
